Biovation is a contract packaging company whose mission is to manufacture and supply the highest quality products for their clients. They work with clients who provide vitamins, medicine, and supplements to the public. They work with hundreds of clients to mix, encapsulate and package a wide variety of different products.
They produce large quantities of pharmaceutical capsules and tablets every day. The feeder for the encapsulator and tablet press they used required a step ladder for staff to manually place the mixture into either machine. This was taxing on employees, presented a safety issue of having a team member off the ground, and also resulted in consistent spillage.
Now Biovation uses a Piab Pneumatic Conveyor to move the mixture to the top of the encapsulator and tablet press. This keeps the team member on the ground level and eliminates spillage. Because the Piab unit can feed the mixture at a consistent rate both encapsulator and tablet press can run 75% faster than before while requiring one team member to operate the process instead of two.
